Formika Groupwas founded in 2000 as an exhibition company. At the same time, a 3D-design studio was established within the group, which then grew into a separate company – Formika Lab. Our team is comprised of experts in architecture and arts.
20 years of experience
3 000+ completed projects
Over the past 20 years, we have created several thousand spaces, ranging from tiny stores to gigantic exhibition pavilions. We designed projects for major exhibitions in Russia, as well as exhibitions in other countries: Expo 2010 in China, Expo 2017 in Kazakhstan, Expo 2020 in UAE, St. Petersburg International Economic Forum in Russia, INNOPROM – Main Russian Industrial Trade Fair - in Russia, etc.
We possess a good sense of space and deep technical knowledge to ensure build quality. We implement different materials and furniture. Even more importantly, we understand how to integrate technologies into concepts.
X3 is not just about multiplication, it is about rapid growth. Everything is cubed. This wordplay was foundational in creating the stand of the Sverdlovsk region – one of the organizers of INNOPROM. The cube is the main architectural form of the entire space. And a 3x3 meters LED cube is its main interactive element.
This booth was one of the largest at INNOPROM – more than 1000 sq.m. It included an interactive area to attract the attention of visitors, an exhibition area to demonstrate the capabilities of companies in the region, a conference area, a global lounge for receiving guests, as well as a meeting area, and a media area.
ICS-Holding includes more than 20 companies. Therefore, the concept of the project is based on the idea that such an alliance of many companies generates synergy – opportunities don't just add up, they multiply. Together, these companies become the growth driver of the country's digital economy.
The huge X sign is the centerpiece of the booth. It is built of LED screens. It attracts attention and never stops transforming.
As we noted above, X is the multiplication sign, but it is also a sign of mystery. Participation in the forum was the first public presentation of the holding. Therefore, the booth itself is like a mysterious "black box" which one wants to explore and learn more about.
The booth of the Russian Venture Company with an area of 250 sq.m. The project was designed as a loft-style space. Brick masonry and welded metal structures were used in the design. A special place is occupied by the area for workshops and panel discussions.
The Winter City theme playfully introduces visitors to the idea of pilotless technologies and movement through the streets of the city in difficult weather conditions.
Almaz-Antey
Innoprom 2019, Yekaterinburg
The main idea of the booth was to project the company's image of a reliable partner that develops and produces high-tech products for civil use. At the heart of this design concept lies an open space with modern decor and streamlined shapes that contribute to a spatial feel of the whole exposition. The entire upper part of the booth is a kinetic ceiling. It serves as an attraction point and inspires visitors to take a picture or shoot a video with it.
Ural Airlines
Innoprom 2019, Yekaterinburg
Under the wing of a Ural Airlines plane. This was the impression left after having visited the airline's booth. Every visitor had a chance to visit a unique photo booth, take a picture with a rotating aircraft engine and instantly get the picture emailed to them.
Sverdlovsk region
Innoprom 2019, Yekaterinburg
This booth's concept is an ecosystem that ensures successful operation and interaction between people, businesses, authorities, and cities of the Sverdlovsk region. This ecosystem is the sum of two Eco's – Ecology (Sverdlovsk region is a comfortable and environmentally sound region) and Economy (developed economy of the region that welcomes investments).
Therefore, the central part of the booth is divided into two parts:
Economy area, where visitors could learn about the region's investment projects;
Ecology area, where a digital tree was growing during the exhibition. Any and every visitor could take part in growing the tree.
"Heart of a hero"
Concept design of the Kazakhstan Expo 2020 Dubai pavilion, 2018
The centerpiece of the pavilion is the so-called Heart of a Hero – a pulsating golden sphere. The facade gives the impression of being the heart's armor. Heartbeats introduce visitors to limitless sources of alternative energy, space dreams, riveting mountain curves, cool crystal-clear lakes, as well as modern digital technologies, and the most delicious national cuisine of Kazakhstan.
Uralchem / Uralkali
St. Petersburg International Economic Forum 2018
Double down on flowers while everyone else is talking about economy and technology. For Uralchem and Uralkali's booth, we used 75,000 fresh roses to create a picture of the potash ore cross-section.
RVC
Open innovations 2018, Moscow
We suggested two booth options to the client.
The first one's theme was Scale of Thought. This booth design consists of a single large element – a line that goes through the whole space and highlights the company's business scale. Its white color signifies clarity and brightness, both being features of thought. The concept was complemented with a range of souvenir products.
The other idea was to turn the booth into a space of opportunities and make it an upward staircase, literally. The client ultimately decided in favor of the latter.
Rosatom
World Nuclear Exhibition 2018, Paris
The foundational element of the booth is the white sphere, the best representation of an atom.
Malltech
MAPIC Russia 2018, Moscow
To solve the Rubik's Cube, one must possess intelligence and intuition. To manage complex development projects, every little detail must be thought out. We combined the two, which resulted in this design concept.
Ministry of Industry and Trade of the Russian Federation

Yota
Yota store concept, 2017
Formika LAB designers designed the concept of regional Yota stores, together with DADA Agency. The client's vision was to disrupt the conventional sales format.
Concept 1 | YOTA COWORKING Now you can go into a phone store to charge your phone or check your email. The design is strictly functional, featuring simple forms and nothing without a purpose.
Concept 2 | YOTA COWORKING A store is now a place to have a coffee and have a great time. The showroom's interior is designed in a way that allows its visitors to enjoy a friendly atmosphere. It's as if the owner of this "bar" used some scrap materials to make furniture in his garage in his spare time. The counter is both a counter and a storefront, while the barrel is equipped with wireless chargers.
